Unfortunatly, “Pushing Daisies” has been cancelled. I’m sorry for the loss of a truly unique and entertaining show. I hope you will support the show by purchasing Season 1 on DVD.
Thanks for a great season.

One of the worst things about the writers’ strike was the toll it took on some freshmen series. Luckily, “Pushing Daisies” prevailed and will be beginning it’s second season on October 1st at 8pm EST. The huge amount of Emmy nominations for the show are just more evidence of the amazing success of the show’s first season, which will be available on September 16 on Amazon for only $18.99 if you pre-order. Remember, the Primetime Emmy Awards air Sunday September 21st!
TheTvAddict.com just released a Season in Review blog. Pushing Daisies was mentioned.
Reason #45 To Invest In A High-Definition TV: As if PUSHING DAISIES weren’t one of the most brilliantly acted and written shows on television, it also features some of the most eye-popping visuals ever to grace the medium. And if you think the pie maker’s world looks great on your boring, regular set… wait until you see him in high def.
Check out the whole list here.
I read this blog by this girl who is an aspiring TV writer. She recently revealed the beginning script/character descriptions of some TV shows. She happened to have one regarding “Pushing Daisies”. Here it is:
CAMERA FINALLY REVEALS NED’S FACE
Simultaneously handsome and awkward, about 30 years of age. Ned’s lips are whistling but we don’t hear a sound.
Ned runs his hand over the pine frame then lifts the lid, bathing the body of Charlotte Charles, aka CHUCK, in sunlight.
NARRATOR
Only Prince Charming could know how the Pie-Maker felt upon looking at her. Even in death she’s beautiful, a woman yet very much the little girl he once knew.
NARRATOR (CONT’D)
Great thought was taken as to where to touch her. The hand too impersonal, lips too forward, the cheek… the cheek. Ned’s finger closes in on Chuck’s alabaster cheek and CAMERA JUMPS TO AN EXTREME-EXTREME-EXTREME CLOSE UP of his slow caress. A CRACKLE OF ELECTRICITY between finger and cheek.
Here’s more from other shows.
This week ABC debuted their fall schedule and “Pushing Daisies” remains in the same time slot next fall. Wednesdays on ABC at 8pm. It just shows that ABC still has the confidence in the show to keep ratings up in the fall. Check back here for news during the summer on any new characters, plot lines, cast info, etc.
Have a great summer!
